With the usual skating kit put a few extras like a scythe, face paint, fake blood, scrubs, we set out on the London Halloween skate 2008.

The number of skaters who had not made an effort to dress up could be counted on one hand and smiles were many. I even saw a taxi driver smiling!!!!

The scythe: I'm used to skating without anything in my hands and to have, albeit plastic, scythe in my hands...............something felt so wrong and yet so right. Maybe, it's due to all the years moutain biking, who knows. On the night it was good for giving the kids a scare.
